Parent Arrested For Neglect After Infant Dies

On April 29, 2014 at about 2:18 pm, the Sioux City Police Department was sent to Unity Point St. Luke’s for a report of a dead 2 month-old infant that was brought into the emergency department.

Investigators with the Sioux City Police Department interviewed the parents of the child and conducted a search of their residence at 2800 W 4th St Apt 13A.

Based on their investigation, 26 year-old MICHAEL D. WILLIAMS of Sioux City was arrested for Neglect of a Dependant Person, a class C felony.

The cause of death is still under investigation.

The name of the child is being withheld at this time.

Any arrest/charges noted in this report should be considered merely an accusation.  All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
