On May 10th, local agencies observed Law Enforcement Memorial Week by honoring fellow officers who have died in the line of duty. The Sioux City Police Department, after the memorial service, held an award ceremony at City Hall. Department members receiving awards were:

On May 25th, Detective Ryan Bertrand of the Sioux City Police Department was presented the Victim Service Award from the United States Attorneys' Office, Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa.
The Sioux City Police Department has promoted Jay Fleckenstein to rank of Sergeant. Jay has been with the Police Department since 1997.
