Ryan Bertrand Receives Prestigious Award
On May 25th, Detective Ryan Bertrand of the Sioux City Police Department was presented the Victim Service Award from the United States Attorneys' Office, Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa.  The award recognizes Bertrand as providing extraordinary service to victims of child sexual abuse and their families, and for showing kindness, compassion, and willingness to "go beyond the call of duty" in the investigation and prosecution in federal sex abuses against children.  The U.S. Attorneys' Office noted three separate child victims in three separate cases, where Bertrand's work resulted in successful prosecutions of the defendants.  This Continuous Service Award is given to law enforcement members in honor of National Victims' Rights Week.

The Sioux City Police Department is proud to have Bertrand, an eight-year veteran.  Bertrand has been investigator for five years, in the Crimes Against Persons Section.  Congratulations, Ryan!
