Please join us on Monday, November 14th at 6:30 PM at the SIoux City Police Department. Dave and Christie Ferris have organized a Community Prayer Services they are calling "Join Hands". They are asking the community to join hands around the police station and parking lot in prayer and solidarity on Monday November 14, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. They are doing this to let our police officers know that they hold them in the highest esteem, they support them, and that they are praying for them!
The celebration and ceremony will begin at 6:30 P.M. and will include prayers from Father Shane Deman (Heelan High School) and Paster Jeff Thelander (Sunnybrook Community Church). Jill Miller will be there and has agreed to sing two songs, "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and "God Bless America". Finally, Dale Meyer (Meyer Brothers) is printing a special Police Officer's Prayer Card to be handed out to attendees.
It is our sincerest hope that we can get many of you there along with your families. We are encouraging everyone to bring a flashlight so we can make this a flashlight vigil. It was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Let us all stand together and show our love for each other and for this wonderful community in which we live in.
