Crime Stoppers

Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization made up of local concerned citizens that over-see its operation. They work in partnership with local law enforcement agencies to notify the public of crimes and ask for their assistance in solving those crimes. The board has overall oversight of the program and manages all money associated with program. The granting of rewards is a decision made by the board.

You will be provided an informant number and this is how your tip is tracked. If your tip leads to an arrest or is considered a significant lead in a case, you could receive a reward.

The Sioux City Police Department’s Crime Prevention Officer oversees the program for the department and acts as its liaison with the Crime Stoppers Board. If you have provided a tip, contact the Crime Prevention Officer to inquire about receiving a reward. Have your informant number ready to provide to the officer. He will make the request to the board and if the reward is granted, he will provide you with instructions on how to collect the reward.
