Fatal Accident - I29 Rollover 26SC05917

Original Release on March 6, 2026 at 2:05 pm - On Thursday March 5, 2026, at approximately 10:15PM, officers with the Sioux City Police Department and Sioux City Fire Rescue responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 29 North, near mile marker 149.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by a 54-year-old female, was traveling northbound on Interstate 29 when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch at approximately mile marker 149.7, and rolled, coming to rest on its hood.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Paula Victoria Lopez-Perez of Sioux City Iowa.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sioux City Police Department Traffic Unit.
