Homicide 600 Block of 14th Street - 25SC27593

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – On Friday, September 26, 2025, at approximately 9:36 p.m., officers from the Sioux City Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 600 block of 14th Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. The victim was transported by Sioux City Fire and Rescue to Unity Point Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The Iowa State Medical Examiners Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. The victim’s identity is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide. No suspects are currently in custody, and the investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are reviewing available surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances.

The 600 block of 14th Street was temporarily closed for approximately two hours while the scene was processed. The area has since been reopened to traffic and pedestrian activity.
